THE BEGINNING OF A LEGEND
The Master Watchmakers at the dawn of the XXth century witnesses to the origin of the true wristwatch, better adapted for military use than the pocket watch.
It is due to the inspiration of the most glorious pieces of watchmaking of that time that the MAD MINUTE was created, the elegant military watch bearing all the progress that the 21st century has brought to the watch industry.
The 42 mm case, fully sculpted in 316L stainless steel case whose dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal, is water-resistant for up to 200 metres, is equipped by the 26 jewels, 28,800 vph, Miyota 9100 automatic movement.
Gracefully contrasting with the white dial, the blued hands of the MAD MINUTE are of a distinct vintage style, a shape chosen for its ideal balance both from a technical and aesthetic point of view.
Revolutionary. No other term could better describe the extraordinary 75mm Model 1897 field gun, the centre-piece of the French artillery, better known by the sobriquet of "Seventy-Five", in reference to its legendary calibre.
Invented by the Commandant DEPORT, and the Captains SAINTE-CLAIRE DEVILLE and RIMAILHO, the barrel of 75mm was from its origin equipped with an hydraulic brake. An innovative mechanism working with oil and nitrogen for the absorption of the recoil force, it allowed for a greater stability of the barrel.
It is a tribute to the courage of the heroes of the Great War, servants of this much acclaimed and admired artillery piece of unprecedented accuracy, that on the back of the MAD MINUTE, in the centre, is an engraving with the effigy of its bronze model, the shell of the "Seventy-Five".
